Background

Trailjunkies shop opened in the summer of 2006 - which was a year and a half after the Trailjunkies website started as a mountain biking community forum.  As the business owners, we (Neal and Monica Bromley) are cycling enthusiasts and both regulary ride both road and mountain bikes.   Neal has recently successfully completed the 2008 Cape Epic Challenge - a staged 9 day event which involved 70 hours of riding in temperatures of up to 40 degrees while climbing twice the height of Mount Everest!   Even the youngest member of the Bromley family (aged 6) can cycle for over 3 hours a day. 

Our shop manager, Craig Groves has been working in the retail bike business for many years and is also a qualified mechanic (Cytech Level 3).  He is often seen on a Monday night ride but his real passion is for bmx riding.

Our team philosophy is that cycling should be fun and we have been involved in organising local bike rides for over 3 years.  Before opening the business, we felt that there was a need for a shop that catered to both novice and experienced riders and that made people feel welcome regardless of their age, gender or technical know how.  We are now well known in the local area as a community bike shop and have a large number of customers who join us on rides and come in the shop for a coffee and a chat as well as a look at the latest bike gear.

Our customers never fail to be inspired by our great location – which is on a by-way at a farm with lots of space for trying out bikes. We are also well placed as a starting point for rides– from The Ridgeway to the Thames Path and Chilterns.
